My TP Learning and Experience

Hello! This entry I will write in English in honour of my last company which hired me for some days until I decided to quit on it.

Since mid-August I was unemployed. I had gone to two interviews for different companies which never wrote me back after that first interview for each one. I was not getting any response from the many places I sent my information to get an interview nor any comment.

I was getting very anxious, desperate, irritated and tired of that lack of work and money. It is so awful and I really do not like the idea of not working. I really need to do something!

I took a deep breath and made a decision: I need to work, whether it means to earn less money, just be active and be busy.

I saw the options of working in a call centre and the one that got first into my mind was where my sister last worked before getting involved in the government arts and culture department: Teleperformance.

I applied through a job offer post from TP (Teleperformance) in the OCC webpage and within three days a person from there contacted me. That was good! And after some messages, we arranged a call for a quick interview.

That interview happened while I was driving towards my wife's work in EGADE Business School. The person who was on the phone with made some basic questions about me in English and everthing went fine, and I made very clear that I needed a job, I wanted to work. That was true.

I remember that day was like Wednesday and by Friday I and some others had a group meeting in Microsoft Teams with two or three persons from the human resources team. I learned from the other applicants a bit of their lives and experiences.

I like the idea of getting to know people from different lifestyles and culture. Not that I like or love other lifestyles so different from mine, but I do like knowing people, know about their stories, their struggles, their families, their life.

People who really speak English so fluently because they lived in USA or elsewhere for years, single mothers, youngsters, middle-aged ones, deported ones, teachers, psychologists, widows, adults reaching their retirement, tech-savvy ones, sellers, programmers or developers, and some professionals and people who have been unemployed recently, or for some long time.

One thing that I can say from TP is that a truly great place to work. These past pandemic years have been of great growth and expansion, getting thounsands of new employees each years and still more to come.

Teleperformance showed me that there is job for the one willig to work. There is possibility for growth and obviously earn more. Yes, that takes time, which is the reason why I want to move on.

Because a company is looking for me, a chemical related job, and they could pay me as much as more than the double I make here in TP. I could be earning the most in my worklife, in my lifetime, if I just make it through all the steps.

I am willing to make the risk and get on the adventure of doing my best to have that job and have a better life.

Would I ever consider going back to TP or another call centre? Yes! Obviously yes!

There's great chance of learning and growing. It just takes time, just like any other place. But if you don't have that many debts (like me), responsibilities (like family, kids), just go for it; it's a good job.

They say there are some call centres where the pay is higher, like Sutherland. If I ever get unemployed again, I should try that one, or maybe other.

Thanks, Teleperformance!
