Shift Engineer
Responsibilities:
Supervise the correct operation and functioning of the manufacturing processes of strontium carbonate, sodium sulfide and sodium sulfhydrate. Guide the operator workmates in their corresponding activities. Assure of the personal protective equipment (PPE) use and the personnel safety. Continuous training. Attention to materials consumption. Collaborate with laboratory, maintenance and external personnel to accomplish goals. Decision making. Communication and leadership. Safety observations. Work permits and risk analysis. Participate in Operations meetings everyday with Management to see the production advancement. Materials Requirements Plan (MRP)
Equipments used:
Reduction kiln, bucket elevators, screw conveyors, dust collectors, leaching, thickeners and clarifiers, peristaltic pumps, carbonation, rotatory filters, flakers, spin flash dryer (SFD), vacuum evaporation and finned barometric condensers
Accomplishments:
Understand and dominate the involved reactions to obtain strontium carbonate and its derivatives. Understand how the flowstreams relate to achieve the desired production (material balances). Problem solving. Good communication with operator workmates and personnel from other teams (laboratory, maintenance, externals). Operating personnel training.
